In February of 2020, I attended the L'taken weekend at the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism in Washington DC. Along with 300 other reform Jewish teens, we spent the weekend learning about different social justice issues in America. We drafted speeches and delivered them to our Senators and Representatives from our respective states. Speaking with the staff of Senator Blumenthal, Murphy, and Representative Larson empowered me to use my voice. I realized the importance of youth political activism in creating meaningful change.
